Mitsuko Kado
Born in Tokyo.  Studying piano from childhood, though her interest is not in classical but in contemporary music.  She performs not only in Japan but also overseas with the ambitious programs including the premiere pieces composed by her commission.  Recently  her approach to the substance of music becomes more flexible that she gropes for music surpassing era and area including Gregorian chant of the medieval period, minimal and jazz of contemporary more over extending to the pan and non western music such as Asia, South America, Eastern Europe and Islamic area.  She is performing actively in collaboration with wide-ranging artists both domestic and overseas.
She released 3 CDs :
“Memories of Wind”  Contemporary piano music from Japan
“Drifting towards the East” : Asian Music on the Piano
“Across the Universe” : putting into the moment of joy
All three are received high appraisal by intellectual and original approach.
